[ADMIN] how to get a number of seconds in some interval ?

Hello,

Is there a good method of knowing how mutch seconds does some interval
have?? I tried my_interval / (interval '1 second'), but there is no
operator interval / interval defines (I wonder why).
Is there a method to do so?
